M. André Goodfriend Scholarship for Applied Humanities

The Department of Public & Applied Humanities is honored to offer the M. André Goodfriend Scholarship for Applied Humanities. The Goodfriend Scholarship provides financial support to one undergraduate student (majoring in Applied Humanities) per academic year. Applications are reviewed by a faculty committee, and the scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, financial need, and competitiveness of essay submission.

Value of Scholarship: $1000 (offered in the Spring semester; non-renewable)
Eligibility: Declared major in Applied Humanities and minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
Application deadline: April 1


Awards

The PAH Outstanding Achievement Award

Given to a PAH student with:

  • Strong academic performance;
  • Impressive internship experience;
  • Involvement in extra-curricular and/or service activities;
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to PAH’s vision, mission, and values

Value of Award: $500 (offered in both Fall and Spring semesters)
Eligibility: Declared major in Applied Humanities and minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 (Note: Prize winners are not eligible to win the same award twice)
Application deadline: October 13 / March 17

The PAH Outstanding Enrichment Award

Given to a PAH student with:

  • Notable evidence of seeking out and participating in transdisciplinary learning experiences;
  • Dedication to enriching life in the community and beyond through public facing projects;
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to PAH’s vision, mission, and values

Value of Award: $500 (offered in both Fall and Spring semesters)
Eligibility: Declared major in Applied Humanities (Note: Prize winners are not eligible to win the same award twice)
Application deadline: October 13 / March 17
