Taylor Mandell interned with the College of Humanities and gained experience in college recruitment.
How did you secure your internship?
Stephanie Springer (the PAH Internship Director) gave me insight about the College of Humanities Ambassador program. As I was looking over the application, I was nervous since I did not quite meet all the listed minimum requirements. I explained in my application how I would be a strong candidate and how the College of Humanities has changed my college experience for the better. I also expressed these beliefs in my interview. I soon received feedback that I was accepted and I couldn’t be more thrilled.
What is the focus of your internship?
As a Student Ambassador, I am proud to say that it is my job to educate and inspire students to join the College of Humanities. It's also about showing others how important humanities skills are in our everyday lives, as well as in many career paths!
What new knowledge and skills did you develop in this internship?
I developed leadership, communication, and presentation skills. I have always been afraid to present, but throughout our Zoom meetings I learned to get over that fear.
